Come on out to Garner Grows Community Garden to learn about the wonderful world of the honeybee! Apis mellifera is an interesting and complex insect that plays a huge role in crop pollination and is an important part of the North Carolina agricultural economy. This workshop will talk about the lifecycle of the honeybee and the jobs they perform. We will have equipment on hand to talk about the different components of the hive and give an overview of what it takes to set up one of your own. An observation hive will be on view to see a slice of life inside the hive! *Rain/cold weather date May 5th

Caution: We will not be going into the actual hives but there is still a risk of getting stung!
