Earth Day is April 22 and every organization in town has planned their garden events around it. The Saturday before Earth Day is a busy one for the still relatively small membership of Garner Grows.
We will have a booth at White Deer Park for Garner’s “Get Your Green On” event and need at least two people to help man that booth. Grow and Share is having a plant giveaway starting on the 17 and they will give 12-20 plants to community gardeners who come by and pick them up.
Advocates for Health In Action is hosting the first ever event in Raleigh on community gardening at Marbles Museum. Let Maggie know if you want to join her at the ‘Dig In’ at Marbles from 9am-12:30. We will also be hosting a tour of ‘Dig In’ attendees at Garner Grows Community Farm Garden immediately after the event.
Since that is such a busy day, we are planning on cancelling or rescheduling that Saturday Workday.
The following Saturday, April 24th is our community meeting at SE Regional Library from 2pm – 3:30 or so. We hope to put a sign-up sheet at the library this week to increase visibility.
